Equine colour company Equidivine has “blinged” top showjumpers — but has never before transformed a palomino into a pink unicorn.
The 15hh horse was coloured on 27 April at a photo shoot for Katie Price’s new reality series going out on American cable satellite network TLC this summer.
The series, titled Katie Price’s Pony Club, is set at the former model’s family house in West Sussex where she keeps her five horses.
“Normally I work with greys, this was first time we’ve turned a palomino completely pink,” said Michelle Inch, who runs Equidivine.
The 28-year-old mother of three from South Wales set up the company four years ago to get children to do more grooming.
“The aim of the company was to encourage children to groom their ponies as our glitter hoof balm actually heals hooves but has glitter for fun,” Mrs Inch said.
“It’s now all about the silliness that people assume but our paint is used for therapy as businesses who offer pony therapy allow the children to paint the horses instead of saying how they feel.
“It has massive results and children have been responding amazingly.”
The glitter hoof balm was the first product she developed.
There is now has a range of colours that wash off the horse or can be rolled off in the field in a week.
Equidivine has been at Olympia decorating all the horses for the finale for the last two years, and has been to Miami to put glitter tattoos and paint on the hoofs of the horses taking part in the Winter Equestrian Festival’s charity challenge.
The glitter and colour is permitted for showjumping and at Olympia last year showjumpers Ben Maher and Scott Brash were ‘coloured up’ for the pairs class.
The products start at £5 for a 50ml pot of glitter hoof balm or pony paint, rising to £70 for the “glamour pony kit”, which includes paint for a whole pony and glitter accessories.

“We’re now working on a new clothing and accessories line as an added twist of glitter,” Mrs Inch added.
