Top rider on A Question of Sport

  • Pippa Funnell will be appearing on A Question of Sport tomorrow, Friday 27 February, on BBC One at 7pm.

This will be the second appearance on the show for Pippa, who is the world’s leading three-day-eventer.

She and former WBO Middleweight Champion and all-round showman Chris Eubank will be joining team captain Ally McCoist for another round of the UK’s longest-running sports quiz.

Guest team captain and England World Cup winner Matt Dawson will be fighting back with Southampton football legend Matt le Tissier and England’s World Cup winning hooker, Steve Thompson.

The show has always enjoyed patronage from the equestrian world, especially from racing circles. Frankie Dettori, who was champion jockey on the flat in 1994 and 1995 took over as a team captain from John Parrott in June 2002, although he is currently being replaced by guest captains while he is away competing.

Both Tony McCoy, who is the reigning champion jump jockey, and Richard Johnson who is snapping at his heels in this year’s race for the title, have appeared on the show recently.

As ever, Sue Barker will be asking the questions and keeping the wilder antics of Ally and Matt Dawson and their teams in order.
