Ridden hunter, hack, cob and riding horse competitors will now have a chance to compete for substantial prize money in the Deanwater Hotel Ridden Show Horse Championship, to be held at the North of England Summer Show at Osbaldeston on 10 July.
The champion will be awarded a £1,000 first prize, while the reserve will take home £500. Prize money continues down the line to eighth place, with sashes to the champion and reserve and rosettes to all other prize winners and finalists.
This new competition will be run along similar lines to the other lucrative North of England series, such as the Whiteside & Knowles Supreme In-Hand Championship and the Garrick/Waring Collins Ridden Mountain and Moorland competition.

The North of England annual championship for ridden ponies has a new title this year and will be called the Genders Supreme Riding Pony Championship, kindly sponsored by Gill Genders.
