Dressage star Carl Hester will be demonstrating his training methods at Equus, sponsored by Horse & Hound, HORSE and Eventing, on 16-18 April. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn from Carl as he works with young horses in the morning and rides grand prix to music displays in the afternoon.
Carl is one of Britain’s leading dressage riders and a regular member of the national squad. He is an experienced Olympian, representing Britain at the Barcelona and Sydney Olympics, as well as being short-listed for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. He is a holder of 32 national titles and has been national champion on three occasions.
Carl says: “I am very pleased to be invited to demonstrate at Equus. With British Dressage on such a high after its medal successes in 2003, it will be a pleasure to show the training that goes into this beautiful sport.”
Equus 2004 will also feature demonstrations by eventing star Pippa Funnell and top show jumper Di Lampard, as well as equestrian stuntsman Tony Smart, horse behaviour specialist Michael Peace, and Western rider David Deptford.
The three-day exhibition will provide a tempting array of equestrian and country lifestyle exhibits, a healthy horse clinic, expert equestrian seminars and a job shop and CV clinic as well as masses of children’s entertainment, with a daily ticket providing access to all areas.
