Europe’s best farriers will be competing in a prestigious competition held at Myerscough College, Lancashire later this month (25-27 July).
The biannual European Farriery Championships is being held in the UK in 2014, and includes a convention with exhibitors, lectures and product demonstrations.
Farriers will be coming from across Europe to take part in the event which is being organised by the British Farrier & Blacksmiths Association.
Myerscough College is one of 3 colleges to offer farrier apprenticeships, and the only one to offer the 4-year farriery degree course.
Claire Brown, a spokesman for the event, said: “We will be showing the development of the farrier industry, and have a strong educational element.”
