Farewell to…Margaret Johnsey


  • The mother of British Olympic showjumper Debbie Johnsey has died aged 79. She died from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis on 2 June.

    Margaret was a supportive owner of Moxy, on whom Debbie finished fourth at the 1976 Games.

    Margaret was also mother of former racehorse trainer Clair Johnsey, as well as grandmother of showjumper Gemma Johnsey Plumley.

    A funeral will be held at St Mary’s Church, Chepstow, tomorrow (20 June).
