A horse rescued by World Horse Welfare as a neglected foal is now winning horse boarding competitions.
In 2012 Candy was rehomed to Rachel Simington, a member of Horse Boarding UK, which founded the sport in 2004.
The pair have gone on to win £500 at local shows. The sport involves towing participants along at speeds of up to 35mph on an off-road skateboard.
“Candy is different from any other horse I’ve ridden — she’s very honest and tries her very best to please. We have competed in horse boarding at shows all over the country,” said Rachel.
Horse Boarding UK runs “have-a-go” sessions at World Horse Welfare’s Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming centre in Norfolk.
