Switzerland’s Markus Fuchs leads the FEI Gandini World Jumping Riders Rankings for the second consecutive month following strong performances in Spruce Meadows, Canada (CAN) and on home ground, when he won the Grand Prix of Ascona with Tinka’s Boy.
Defending European Champion, Ludger Beerbaum, is second and could recapture the No.1 position when he fights to retain his title at the European Championships in Donaueschingen this weekend.
Germany’s Marcus Ehning retains third spot, while Belgium’s Jos Lansink goes up one place to steal Rodrigo Pessoa’s fourth position.
Robert Smith (pictured) has moved up the rankings once again and now lies eighth in the world. Michael Whitaker is the other British rider in the world’s top 20 after rising from 23rd to 17th.
There are three Whitakers in the top 100, with John 37th and his son, Robert, 90th on the list. Nick Skelton has continued his rise to 57th, while the biggest progress has been made by Andrew Davies, who was outside the top 100 last month and is now 63rd in the world.
The other British riders in the top 100 are Richard Davenport (69th), Tim Stockdale (76th) and Di Lampard, who is 98th.
