Pack of bloodhounds future is secured

  • A pack of bloodhounds no longer faces an uncertain future — after their plight was highlighted in H&H.

The Southern Shires Bloodhounds received several offers of new kennels after H&H reported that they were about to be made homeless (news, 31 August).

Hounds moved into their new home, with the Ashman family of New Barn Farm, Bucklebury, Berks, at the end of last month. The Ashmans, who run a pig farm and livery yard have provided the hunt with four lodges and runs.

Joint-master Charles Rogers said: “After an uncertain few months we can now look forward to starting our season.”

The first meet is at Wonston Manor Farm, Sutton Scotney, Hants, on 6 October. Visit www.southernshiresbloodhounds.co.uk
