Sponsored ride raises funds for horse welfare

  • A 20-mile sponsored ride held at Cattle Market, Wadebridge, Cornwall on behalf of ILPH raised £300.

Local field officer Jeff Herrington was delighted by the amount raised: “The funds these sponsored rides generate are hugely important to us. It’s thanks to all the people who raised sponsorship money by going on the ride that the ILPH is able to continue its work in equine welfare.

“This is the first time a Welfare Awareness Ride (WAR) has been held in this particular area and traditionally they gain momentum from humble beginnings. This year was affected by foot and mouth, but hopefully next year even more riders will offer their support.”

Pat Knight, who organised the ride with her husband Malcolm, said: “I have really enjoyed organising this event and I shall certainly be doing it again next year.”
