Endurance societies take further steps towards the a single governing body for the sport
British Endurance Riding Association members voted overwhelmingly in support of dissolving the organisation at the society’s extraordinary general meeting last Sunday.
At the meeting held in Kenilworth, Warks, members voted 179 for the dissolution, with just 14 against.
Members of the Endurance Horse and Pony Society voted 521 for and 230 against dissolution in a postal ballot which was counted on Monday.
This clear-cut decision from both former governing bodies will pave the way for the establishment of Endurance GB, the proposed single organisation in 2002. The Scottish Endurance Riding Club will be affiliated to the new organisation.
