Teenage girl left with serious injuries after horse bolts with carriage

  • A teenage girl has been left with serious injuries after a horse pulling the carriage she was in bolted in Barton, Cambridgeshire last Friday (13 September).

The horse is believed to have been spooked by a car and then crashed into two parked cars.

Police are now looking for the driver of the car who did not stop at the scene.

“This was a terrifying incident for the passengers in the carriage,” said PC Kieran Watts  of Cambridgeshire Police who is investigating the crash.

“We are very keen to speak to the driver of the car involved and would urge them to come forward.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened, or saw where the car went after the incident, to call police.”

The accident happened at around 1pm and the car is believed to be a red or orange small hatchback.

Anyone with any information should call PC Watts on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
