A horse has died in a fire in a barn in Devon, which police believe was started deliberately.
Four other horses were rescued from the blaze at Rydon Farm, Ogwell, near Newton Abbot.
The fire destroyed a 30m x 50m barn. More than £200,000 worth of damage was caused — including the destruction of 500tonnes of hay and straw as well as farm machinery.
Firefighters were called at 10.30pm on Thursday (29 August) and were still tackling the flames on Friday afternoon.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, said: “The fire was visible from many miles around.”
He added it was “believed to be deliberate ignition”.
