An Arabian horse breeder who is seriously ill is appealing for funds for treatment in america
Arabian horse breeder, Ann Court, is asking for help in fighting the crippling diseasewhich she has suffered from for the last 14 yours.
She suffers from Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, an auto-immune disorder which causes the body to self-destruct. The disease causes heart problems, fibrosis, skin problems, rheumatoid arthritis andmakes the muscles cease up.
“I first knew there was something wrong when I couldn’t dismount after riding and when I was grooming my horses, I couldn’t get the brush out of my hand.”
Her two grey mares, Altair Nile Passion and Rosa Blanca, are now cared for by friends and family.
She is pinning her hopes on treatment offered by a doctor in New Jersey in the United States. He is a specialist in aggressive nutritional therapy which involves fasting a patient out of disease.
“He has had great success with patients,” she says. “I am confident he can give me back my life.”
But she will have to spend 10 weeks at his clinic at a cost of £1,000 per week.
So far the fund has reached £2,000. Ann is hoping to raise the rest of the money so she can go for treatment by the end of September.
