2 elite premiums were awarded at the first of two days of BEF Futurity evaluations at The College, Keysoe, Beds. The highest accolade went to a dressage foal and an eventing foal and 9 higher first premiums were earned by a selection of dressage and eventing stock.
A Romulus/Welton Crackerjack VII eventing foal, Tremus (pictured), topped the score board with an elite premium of 9.04 for Vin and Liz Jones of Preci Spark Event Horses.
The evaluators said: “This colt foal’s trot was energetic and purposeful with an uphill tendency. He is a very athletic eventer”.
Dressage colt foal Woodlander Detroit Blues (Desiderio/Prince Thatch) scored an elite premium of 9.00 for Lynne Crowden. Youngstock from her Woodlander Stud frequently receive very good scores. He was bred by Lynne and Charlie Hughes.
The evaluators commented on his “modern and harmonious type,” adding: “He steps under and engages well in the canter and is showing uphill steps.”
Top of the yearlings at Keysoe day 1 was Alison Jones’ Forever Barbarella (Flammengold/Delphi). This eventing filly scored a higher first premium of 8.85.
Dressage 2-year-old, Fidalgo Classic (Fidertanz/World Classic) was the highest scorer for his age group with a higher first premium of 8.60. This colt is owned by his breeder Vanessa Garfoot from Kings Lynn.
