David Broome becomes patron of welfare society

  • The Veteran Horse Society (VHS) has appointed legendary showjumper, David Broome, CBE, as its patron.

Set up in November last year to look after the health and welfare of the veteran horse, the society is hoping that David will help raise its profile.

Julianne Aston, director and founder of the VHS says: “It is an honour and privilege to have such an upstanding member of the equine world as patron and someone who obviously recognises the enjoyment older equines bring.”

Other than helping to promote the work of the society, David will attend national finals of the veteran’s competitions.

” I have several veterans at my stables and know the care and attention they need and deserve intheir retirement years, ” he says.

The Veteran Horse Society is a non-profit making organisation, which gives advice to owners about their horses and helps to rehome and rehabilitate veterans. Membership is £20 per year.
