International show jumping and amazing displays combine to make the 30th Christmas show one to remember
The Olympia International Show Jumping championships will be welcoming top show jumpers around the world to compete for its highest prize-money to date in celebration of its 30th birthday.
British riders who have qualified to compete at the prestigious championships include established names such as Michael and John Whitaker, Tim Stockdale and Robert Smith, as well as up-and-coming riders including Scott Smith, Mark Armstrong and Nicky Boulter. They will be competing for a total prize-fund of more than £232,000.
This year’s show will take place from Wednesday 19 to Sunday 23 December inclusive, instead of on its traditional Thursday to Monday slot. The World Cup Qualifier will take place on Saturday, with the big money in the Grand Prix being won on the final evening.
Other entertainment includes the dazzling Cossacks, sponsored by Horse & Hound magazine, and a display of Westphalian stallions from Germany, alongside family favourites such as the Osborne Refrigerators Shetland Pony Grand National and Pedigree Dog Agility.
Kids of all ages can enjoy alsoan audience with Father Christmas when he makes a flying visit from Lapland to Olympia. He will be in the main shopping area, along with two of his elves, on Wednesday 19 December, as well as making his traditional appearance in the Finale.
