A sale of Clydesdales, which was scheduled to take place in April, is goingahead on Saturday (10 November) in Edinburgh.
Kate Stephen from the Clydesdale Horse Society said:
“We’re putting the sale on at Lanark racecourse after the foal show to give the sale a broader forum.
“It’s a service for our members who couldn’t sell their horses this year because of foot-and-mouth restrictions.”
The sale includes a four-year-old prize-winning gelding from Northern Ireland and three mares in foal. .
“People are really starting to fall in love with Clydesdales. I know of one lady who has just bought two secretly for her husband’s 50th birthday for him to drive and ride.
“They’re not just plods. Clydesdales are good riding horses and are used for dressage in the US.”
