The parade of the New Forest Hounds on the opening day of the New Forest Show (30 July-1 August) proved particularly popular this year, with spectators of all ages making the most of the opportunity to meet the hounds and hunt staff.
Visitors were invited into the main arena to mingle with the hounds, who clearly enjoyed the attention.
Spectator Mark Webb said: “When huntsman Michael Woodhouse led the hounds around the ring with the horn blowing, he was followed by a wave of cheering from spectators. It made the hairs on my back of my neck tingle.”
