Richard Burge confirmed that the Countryside Alliance will not back down in the fight to retain the right to hunt, although the organisation¨s remit had expanded considerably.
In a rousing speech at the Alliance’s Annual General Meeting, the chief executive stated that he was not prepared to compromise or do deals: “There will be no stone unturned and no effort spared to make sure that hunting has a future.”
He added that he is all too aware of the threats shooting and fishing are facing, and that the alliance was committed to its defence of all country sports.
“We also need to boost our staffing in the countryside,” commented Richard Burge. “The Countryside Alliance should not be an organisation that is dominated by London.”
