Sponsorship news in the UK horse industry


  • Cartier has announced that it will continue its sponsorship of the Queen’s Cup at Guards’ Polo Club for a second year. “It is a much-treasured privilege to have such a standing in the British social calendar and I look forward to enriching further our strong heritage with the sport,” said Cartier’s Arnaud M. Bamberger.

    Top showjumper Ben Maher will be sponsored by rug company Bucas. “The high quality products reflect our own management ethos in using only the best products we can source for my horses,” said Ben.

    Treehouse Sporting Colours — which specialises in equestrian safety wear, racing and cross countrycolours – has picked a team of riders to support this season, in association with airbag jacket company Helite. The nine riders are David Doel, Gemma Tattersall, Alice Pearson, Nick Gauntlett, Tiana Coudray, Holly Bradshaw, Emily Llewelyn, Amelia Walker and Vicki Hancox.

    Showing and dressage rider Louise Bell will be sponsored by Saracen Horse Feeds. “To represent the brand and have the support of the senior nutritional team is going to strengthen my campaign this year,” said Louise.

    British Horse Feeds has announced its support of riders Jennifer Herd and Morven Lawson as they take part in a 160-mile hill riding challenge this summer. The ponies will be fed Speedi-Beet which will give them energy and help keep them hydrated.

    Dengie Horse Feeds has sponsored a new poster published by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust featuring the UK’s native horse and pony breeds.

    Para dressage rider Gayle Bloomfield was the winner of Mirrors for Training’s 2013 sponsorship competition. She has received four arena mirrors which she has donated to the Pegasus Centre in Northumberland, where she is based.

    Equine insurer Petplan has sponsored a new series on H&C TV featuring Lucinda Green. The programme “Petplan Masterclass with Lucinda” is based on the “Cross Country the Safe Way” clinics Petplan has run in partnership with Lucinda for the past 13 years.

    Two showjumping classes at Barbury International, which took place over the weekend (4-7 July), were sponsored by outdoor furniture company Verdon Grey.
