Holidaymakers pine for their pets

  • A survey by tour operator, Thomas Cook, reveals one third of British holidaymakers confess to “missing” their pets

While some people miss a “decent cup of tea” while on holiday, many miss their pets so much they have to phone home to talk to them.

A survey of 300 holidaymakers by tour operator, Thomas Cook, reveals that 35% pine for their pets. Of those, 15% take a photo with them, 13% make regular calls to the pet sitter to check ontheir friend’s welfare and 11% ring home to speak to their pet personally.

The numbers who missed their pets was even greater than those who missed a British pint of beer (31%).

So for those for whom the stress is just too much, maybe the answer is to holiday in the UK with your pet or just not go at all.
