Postponed due to FMD, the WCF Country Centres Northern Winter Dressage Championships have been re-scheduled for Sunday 27 May as part of the affiliated dressage fixture at Blackdyke Farm – only for notifications and entries to be delayed by a local postal strike.
Secretary Pam Harrison said: “It has taken a over week for some riders to get the letter advising them of the new date and we want riders to know that we will take late entries for these classes, but we’re asking people to telephone first.
Venues which hosted qualifiers for these two new WCF Country Centres Winter Championships at novice and elementary levels, included New Moors in Co Durham, Ettrick Forest in the Scottish Borders, Myerscough College in Lancashire, plus Kingwater Equestrian Centre and Blackdyke Farm.
WCF Country Centres, who operate a chain of 17 specialist retail country centres and a national mail order catalogue (Ride & Groom) of equestrian and country clothing and footwear, have donated generous prizes and other support for the series, with prizes to 10th place, plus additional awards, for both the Novice and Elementary Championships.
