Farewell to… a long-term organiser of Aldon Horse Trials


  • The long-term organiser of Aldon Horse Trials, William “Scrap” Batten, died suddenly on 25 May, following a stroke. He was 87.

    Scrap ran Aldon for 35 years with his wife Sue. They were presented with a British Eventing (BE) award for their great service to the sport in 1997.

    He is survived by Sue, four children and many grand- and great-grandchildren.
