Emile Faurie appointed as Finland’s dressage team trainer

  • British grand prix dressage rider Emile Faurie has been appointed as Finland’s dressage team trainer.

Under the new contract, he will be coaching the riders up to the 2016 Olympic Games.

“[We] are very pleased to have the opportunity to establish a new long-term training programme for our riders in co-operation with Emile,” said a spokesman from the Finnish Equestrian Federation.

“Emile will be training in Finland 9-10 times a year.

“We have already had a couple of training events and our riders are very happy and enthusiastic.

“Thanks to his extensive experience as a world class rider he has a lot of good advice to give to both our upcoming riders, as well as to the ones who already are on an international level.”

Emile competed at the 1992 and 2000 Olympic Games and was part of the British gold medal-winning team at the 2011 European Championships with Elmegardens Marquis.
