Wormers donated to rescue centre

  • Fort Dodge Animal Health has donated quantities of its wormer, Equest, to a pony rescue centre in Wales.

Helen Barnes, equine business unit manager at Fort Dodge Animal Health explains: “We were happy to help when the rescue centre approached us.

“The wormer only needs to be used four times a year, so is very suitable for some of the ponies which the centre looks after.”

The Fforest Uchaf Horse and Pony Centre in Pontypriddprovides a haven for horses and ponies who have suffered cruelty, neglect and ignorance.

Some are ex-pit ponies who have special problems, such as breathing difficulties, and are unlikely to ever leave the centre.

The chairman of Fforest Uchaf, RoyPeckham explained: “We have horses and ponies of all shapes and sizes, many from a background of misery and mistreatment. The donation from Equest has made our worming programme simple and efficient.”
