A group of 25 riders, including some who are partially sighted, will set off to Mongolia on the 20 August 2001 for an eight-day trek.
This is the second year the charity has organised the challenge, where the riders face overnight camping in sub-zero temperatures.
The riders, who each had to raise £2,500 to gain a place on the trip, will be mounted on the tough indigenous ponies that will carry them for the whole journey.
This is one of five overseas challenges organised by the Guide Dogs for the Blind. For more information on the challenges contact the events team (tel: 0870 904 2000) or visit
