EGB prepares for launch

  • Endurance GB management committee take steps towards the launch of EGB on 1 January 2002

The management committee of Endurance GB (EGB) has formulated its proposals to ensure endurance riding has a fully operational single new governing body by 1 January 2002.

Following the successful vote for dissolution by members of BERA and the EHPS, plans have been put in place to produce a full set of rules and competitors’ manual by the end of October.

Confirmation of insurance, the group structure and all administrative procedures will be in place by the end of the year. The EGB management committee is also producing a plan to transfer all assets from BERA and the EHPS.

One of the most important tasks to be undertaken over the coming weeks will be the compilation of a ride programme. Should the foot-and-mouth crisis continue, EGB will run rides in accordance with DEFRA guidelines, but only with the permission and co-operation of all landowners concerned.

EGB will be seeking sources of funding and sponsorship to enable the new organisation to be financially viable from its outset.

The organisation is also seeking a new logo. Ideas are welcome and can be sent to the central offices of BERA or the EHPS.
