All change for world driving event

  • World Horse Pair Driving Championships 2001 will take place atRiesenbeck in Germany, from 16-19 August .

The championships were planned to take place at St Gallen, Switzerland, but the Swiss organisers were forced to give the event back to the FEI Driving Committee after the organisation ran into financial problems.

This will be the third time that Riesenbeck will have hosted the championships , the other events were in 1987 and 1997 when Britain’s drivers won the team gold medal.

The organisers have also announced that the championships will be run in parallel with an international driving event for horse teams.
