Pony event riders from Britain enjoy success at the Ballindenisk CCIP in Ireland
British riders filled the top six places at Ballindenisk CCIP in Ireland this month.
The four highest placed riders completed on their dressage scores, with a strong performance in the first phase putting Wrexham’s Laurabeth Pilkington riding Welton Camelia in an unassailable four-point lead.
The next three places had just a single point between them. Holly Wick with Billy Joe Bob from West Sussex took second on 36, with Hattic Middleditch (Northern Grey) in third and Holly Rayner (Kaleburn) in fourth.
Sally Emery and Master Atlas dropped from second to fifth after collecting six penalties in the cross-country, while Lucy Beckingham jumped clear on Tulira Strongbow to take sixth with 41 penalties.
British riders also enjoyed a clean sweep in the team competition with regional British teams taking the top three places ahead of their Irish hosts in fourth.
