A group of equestrian businesses in the south-west has joined forces to help boost British exports from the region.
The group, South West Animal Cluster, has since secured £3,000 of European Regional Development Fund, to use to develop international trade into new markets.
Hilary Charman, of the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) formed the South West Animal Cluster after mentoring several of the individual companies through export initiatives and realising they had experiences that could be mutually beneficial to share.
“Joining together as a group of companies to work towards a goal such as increased exports is an energising experience,” said Ms Charman. “It brings a range of benefits, including cost savings and increased efficiency. However, companies most often comment that they most benefit from interchanging ideas and improved business practice.”
Other equestrian business in the region are invited to join the group — which currently includes Hilton Herbs, Verm-X, Pro-Motion Equine, Smart Grooming, Griffin Nuumed and Snuggy Hoods.
