ILPH welcomes new international training manager


  • Ian Kelly has joined the ILPH (International League for the Protection of Horses) as their new international training manager, based at the organisation’s headquarters at Snetterton, Norfolk.

    Ian, 53, comes from The Royal Household, at Buckingham Palace where, for the past three years, he held the position of Superintendent at the Royal Mews.

    Prior to that he was Headquarter Squadron Leader in the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, where one of his main responsibilities was regimental training.

    ILPH acting chief executive, Jonny McIrvine, comments, “We are looking to develop our international training programme and this is a key appointment for which Ian has been recruited. He brings with him to the ILPH a wealth of equine knowledge and experience.”

    Ian says: “After a long career with horses which has taught me a great deal I feel it’s time I put something back into the equine world.

    “Horses have always been an important part of my life and have given me an enormous amount of pleasure and it’s really good to know that I will now be in a position to be able reciprocateand be involved in helping improve the welfare of equines world-wide.”
