Weekend slot for Newark & Nottinghamshire

Newark & Nottinghamshire Country show will be held on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May 2001.

Although the show is now taking place a weekend later than in previous years, it still retains its ‘first major county show of the year’ status.

The light horse and pony classes that previously took place on Friday will now be judge on Saturday, while Saturday’s classes have moved to Sunday.

Heavy Horse turnouts will be judged on Saturday, with heavy horses in hand and the heavy horse championship taking place on Sunday.

Riding for the disabled will take place on Sunday, and show jumping competitions will take place over the whole weekend.

The show will also feature new classes for competition horses on Saturday. Sunday will include classes for show hunter ponies and ridden mountain and moorland ponies for the first time.

All livestock entries will close 30 March 2001 and show jumping on 23 March.
