New push to sell Andalusian stallion belonging to former tennis star Boris Becker following a multi-million pound divorce settlement
The breeder handling the sale of the Andalusian stallion owned by former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker says he is trying a new marketing strategy to sell the horse.
German based-breeder, Armin Rahn, says he’s had some “crazy inquiries” since the horse went up for sale earlier this year.
Tennis ace Boris Becker put the stallion, Zeus V11, on the market following a multi-million pound divorce settlement. The 15.2hh pure-bred black stallion had been bought as a present for his wife, Barbara, in 1995.
Armin Rahn said: “I’ve had about 500inquiries, varying from small girls who think I’m going to give him away, to others who want the horse for jumping.”
Armoin says that nine-year-old Zeus has a gentle temperament and does “old-style pure dressage”, but has never competed.
“I think it would be best for him to go to someone who wants to breed from him. However, there’s no pressure to sell – we want him to go to the right place.”
Zeus, who is expected to fetch around $80-100,000, is currently stabled at Armin’s stud at Bogen, near Munich.
