The National Pony Society has announced new competitions for 2002
National Pony Society showing competitiors can look forward to new competitions during the 2002 season.
The society has announced a mountain and moorland intermediate working hunter pony championship for ponies aged five or over. The class has been introduced to help ponies make the transition from novice to open classes.
The maximum height of fences in qualifying classes will be 2’0″ (61cm) for 122cm ponies, 2’6″ (76cm) for 138cm ponies and 3’0″ (92cm) for ponies over 138cm.
Ponies that have previously qualified for the NPS M&M working hunter pony (HOYS) final will not be eligible for the intermediate class.
Additionally, ponies receiving a riding pony silver medal rosette at shows between 1 March-30 September will qualify for the Horse Deals Riding Pony In-Hand Champion of Champions final to be held at the NPS Summer Championships. Those qualifying after 1 August go forward to the 2003 final.
