More than 140 riders have declared their intention to run at the Burghley Pedigree Horse Trials at the end of this month.
The provisional entry list includes many of the world’s top eventing partnerships.
Among the riders who have declared are Mary King (Star Appeal and King Solomon III), Karen Dixon (The Honourable Bob, Too Smart and Uptotrix), Andrew Nicholson (Mallards Treat, Mr Smiffy and New York) and William Fox-Pitt (Barclay Square, Moon Man, River Dragon and Stunning).

Wednesday 29 Aug
First horse inspection, 4pm.
Thursday 30 Aug
Dressage, Pony Club team jumping, 9am-5pm.
Fri, Aug 31
Dressage, Winergy Burghley Young Event Horse finals, 9am-5pm; dressage displays, 12.30 & 4.30pm.
Sat, Sept 1
Cross-country day, 9.30am-5pm (first horse starts Phase D at approx 11am).
Sun, Sept 2
Final horse inspection, 9am; show jumping, 10.30am; show jumping for top 20, 2.30pm; prize-giving, 4.45pm.
Location: Burghley is just off the A1 at Stamford, Lincs, and will be signposted.
Admission:
£5 per car every day; £5 per person on Thurs/Fri (grandstand seating is free, headphones are available), £15 on Sat, £7 on Sunday (not including grandstand seating).
