The winners of the 2001 individual and pairs TREC points league will be recognised at the BHS North and Yorkshire Christmas Ball
The most successful British TREC competitors will receive South Essex Insurance Brokers BHS TREC League awards at the BHS North and Yorkshire Christmas Ball on 1 December.
The individual award goes to Stephen Ramsay from Midlothian with 58 points, ahead of the 2000 World Champion, David Hay-Thorburn who finished two points behind.
In the pairs points league, The ‘Hardy Souls’ combination of Natalie Allen from Norfolk and Sarah Thurnell from Yorkshire remained practically unbeaten throughout the year to take the title from late starters Vanessa Warren and Rosalind Wood who took second place only five points behind.
Robert Jones, director of BHS TREC said: “The league, supported by South Essex Insurance Brokers and the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, has provided an exciting climax to the year, despite setbacks caused by FMD. The standards of TREC in this country are continuing to rise and 2002 promises to be an outstanding year for this fast developing sport.”
The league ran throughout the year, with the pair and individual league titles awarded to riders posting the best four results in BHS affiliated competitions during 2001.
