The BSJA are appealing for organisers for a new series of international shows for 2002
Plans are underway to increase the number of international shows in Britain for the 2002 season.
The British Show Jumping Association wants to hear from any potential organisers prepared to host international events.
They will be given “substantial “grants to help with running expenses, but they must budget for a total prize money of £22,000.
The scheme has been made possible by a legacy left to the BSJA by show jumping enthusiast, Janet Bennett.
Spokeswoman for the BSJA, Jacky Knightley, said: “It’s fantastic. Anything that will help more of our riders to get to international level is great. And it will be a big lift for the sport to get more international riders over here and give them the kind of hospitality that we get over there.
“It’s also great that the tour falls in the Queen’s Jubilee Year, as she is our patron.”
The top British rider of the tour will receive the Janet Bennett Memorial Trophy.
