Ponies(UK) is launching specialised flatwork and show jumping training for members ofthe showing world from next year.

Under a network of area commissioners, individual members will be proposed for an elite training scheme.

International trainers are being enlisted to take the training days and the first one will take place on 17 January, followed by another on 20 February. Both training days will be held at the Unicorn Trust Centre, Stow-on-the-Wold.

“Showing is now broad-based, incorporating dressage and show jumping,” said Ponies(UK) chairman Davina Whiteman. “There is a need for more training to help develop riders’ skills , both on the flat and over fences.”
