Your chance to help care for ponies living at the BHS rescue centre with its adoption scheme
While the British Horse Society actively discourages people giving ponies as Christmas presents, it has come up with interesting alternative.
Five rescued ponies from the BHS Rescue Centre in Oxhill, Warwicks, are available for adoption through its “adopt-a-pony” scheme.
For just £10 adopters will receive a colour photo of their chosen pony, a certificate, supporters badge and two colour issues of BHS Rescue newsletter updating them on their pony’s progress. The money will go towards the specialist care needed for the ponies’ rehabilitation.
Adopters can choose from the mischievous liver chestnut gelding Braveheart, a strawberry roan filly called Pippin; the grey gelding Casper, who was an unwanted Christmas present; a skewbald filly called April Showers, and Bart, an orphaned Appaloosa foal.
All of the ponies can be visited at the Warwickshire rescue centre.
