The South of England Carriage Driving Fair promises to be a great day out for anyone interested in driving
The South of England Carriage Driving Fair on Sunday, 24 March promises to be an ideal day out for established drivers and newcomers alike, whatever the weather.
The event takes place undercover at South of England showground at Ardingly, West Sussex, and includes displays and demonstrations by top drivers including Mark Broadbent and the Millennium Coach [pictured above right], as well as a range of trade stands.
Driving competitors will receive expert advice on how lungeing and long reining can help improve their performance from top private driving producer Gary Docking, while champion tandem driver Anna Grayson will be demonstrating her skills.
Other attractions include international horse pairs competitor Sarah Garnett’s expert schooling tips, while Karen Bassett’s masterclass will be focused on the groundwork associated with driving horses.
The highlight of the main arena displays promises to be the horses V ponies “team challenge”. Teams of horses will compete against teams of ponies around an indoor obstacles and cones course against the clock.
All visitors to the event, which is organised by Brockham Harness Club, will also have the chance to win a new Bellcrown Super Bantam Delux Carriage, worth around £1,700.
