We announce our lucky competition winners, who can watch the Grand National live if they visit Equus on Saturday
Equestrian enthusiasts’ who think they will miss Saturday’s Grand National if they attend Equus – The Horse Event on 6 April, have no need to worry as the show will provide live coverage of all the action in the Aintree Lounge.
The glories of past Grand Nationals will be shown on a large plasma screen throughout Equus, while on Saturday all eyes will be trained on Aintree and the build up to this year’s running of the world’s greatest steeplechase.
And the racing theme doesn’t end there. Former top National Hunt jockey turned racing commentator, Richard Dunwoody, will be opening the four-day event with the ILPH’s mascot Bob the Cob at Excel, London on Thursday 4 April.
Richard’s riding skills will be on display later in the morning during Ascot Park Polo Club’s celebrity polo match.
For riders who would like to follow in Richard’s illustrious footsteps, the British Racing School’s mechanical horse will be available for visitors to experience race riding first-hand.
As well as racing, Equus’ main arena displays and demonstrations cover a diverse range of sports, while around 200 trade stands make the event an equestrian shopping paradise.
