Models, pop stars and jockeys go head to head in this year’s polo match in aid of the Mark Davies Injured Riders fund
The Hoad & Taylor professionals and celebrity polo match and mounted games takes place on Sunday 16 June at Hurtwood Park Polo Club, near Cranleigh, Surrey.
Held in aid of the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund, the event hopes to raise £30,000. Four teams, each comprising of two celebrities and two professional players battle it out on the polo field and in the gymkhana arena to win the 2002 Hoad & Taylor Pro/Celebrity Polo Day.
Event organizer Sarah Bingham, said: “This is the fourth consecutive event organised in aid of the fund. Each year it has grown bigger and better and this year will be no exception.”
Racing commentators Brough Scott and Richard Dunwoody will be joined by event rider Andrew Nicholson and jockey Chris Maude, along withmembers of the music world including Mike Rutherford, Tony Hadley and Rick Fenn. Also taking part will be the model Jodie Kidd, Angie Rutherford, and the boxer Steve Collins.

The day begins with a carriage driving cones competition at 2pm followed by a Pony Club polo match at 2.30pm. A dressage to music display by Andrew Gould will be followed by Tanya Larrigan and her long reining miniature horse team The Mini Marvels.
The first polo match will be at 3.15pm and the prize-giving will end the day at around 6pm.
Gates open at 12noon and cars will be charged £20 for up to five passengers and includes complementary programmes.
