Hickstead has reinstated its popular British four-year-old jumping championship at the Derby Meeting
The Hickstead Derby Meeting (22-25 August) will now run the popular British four-year-old jumping championship.
The class has been run at Hickstead for more than 30 years, but was dropped earlier this year after a rule change by the British Show Jumping Association.
Hickstead secretary Lizzie Bunn said: “We dropped the class because we didn’t find the new rules acceptable for a class that had been running for nearly 40 years.
“It does not appear on our printed schedule, so we need entries as soon as possible,” she said.
The class will be run under unaffiliated rules in the Baileys Horse Feeds Ring (ring three) on Thursday, 22 August . The best 10 horses will go through to the championship in the International Arena on Friday.
Equestrian Elite will sponsor both classes.
Entries can be made by calling the Hickstead office (tel: 01273 834315).
