The Bransby Home of Rest for Horses is asking people to collect any used postage stamps from packages, letters and Christmas cards and send them to their headquarters in Lincoln.
The donated stamps will be sold to collectors both in this country and abroad and the proceeds go towards buying feed for the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules at Bransby.
The centre currently cares for more than 250 equines of all shapes and sizes, as well as co-ordinating and managing the welfare of another 100 horses and ponies in loan homes.
Peter Hunt, founder of the Bransby Home of Rest for Horses, said: “We can sell used stamps to buy hay and feed over the winter and help support all our horses.”
The rescue centre is eight miles from the City of Lincoln and is open to the public every day from 8am, including Christmas Day!
