Three leading UK colleges have been awarded the Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) Award in Equine Studies.
The Tri-College Equine CoVE, was set up and is awarded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) in recognition of the outstanding training, education, facilities and support offered by thecolleges.
The three colleges to receive this new award were Hartpury College, Glos, Bishop Burton College, East Yorkshire and Warwickshire College, Moreton Morrell.
The centres all offer an extensive range of further education, highereducation, postgraduate and short courses in equine studies. Over the past 12 months they have worked together to contribute to the CoVE Development Plan, which focuses on improving links between the equine industry and college-based training.
The joint awarding of this prestigious title will assist the major objective of the three colleges to widen and encourage participation in equestrian education, with the goal of benefiting all academic levels and sectors of the community.
John Harwood, chief executive of the LSC, said: “The CoVE programme is having a real impact on strengthening the further education and training provider sector’s responsiveness to meeting employers’ skills needs.
