Boost for horse driving trials

  • Craghoppers, which specialises in producing outdoor garments suitable for wear in all weathers, is the title sponsor of the 2003 British Horse Driving Trials Association (BHDTA) National Championships.

This year’s event is being held at Windsor Great Park, Berkshire on 12-14 September and will be the highlight of the horse driving trials calendar.

This annual competition caters for novice and open single ponies and horses drivers as well as pairs, tandems and teams of ponies and horses.

Drivers have to demonstrate their driving skillsin the dressage arena, courage and stamina in the marathon, plus control and precision in the cones across three days in this driven equivalent of the ridden three-day event.

Jim McNamara, managing director of Craghoppers says: “We are very excited about our forthcoming sponsorship of the Horse Driving National Championships. Our clothing is naturally suited to the equestrian market as it protects the wearer from the rain, wind, sun and insect bites making it perfect for this type of activity.”
