Royal rider earns sponsorship

  • The financial spread-betting firm Cantor Index has announced a one-year sponsorship deal with eventer Zara Phillips.

Well known for its involvement in race sponsorship and for backing stars such as Olympic boxer Audley Harrison and top jump jockeys AP McCoy, Mick Fitzgerald and Carl Llewellyn, this is Cantor Index’s first venture into the world of eventing.

Zara, 21, who won the under-25 section at Bramham last year and collected an individual silver medal at the young rider European Championships, has three horses to event this year. Toytown (pictured) will be aimed at Badminton or Burghley and Dingbat and Marengo will compete at novice level.
