International Dutch rider Dries Roefs is riding again after an acute form of arthritis left him out of action for most of last year.
Dries, who runs Global Dressage in Hampshire with partner Kay Waterman, hopes to be back competing in the next two months.
“I am presently riding three horses a day but, as I had a lot of muscle wastage, it is taking a long time to get fit. I am lucky to be being prescribed a new drug – I am almost pain-free at the moment,” said Dries.
Global Dressage has two eight-year-olds to bring out this season, Global Natcho (by Hofnar) and Global MacCavity (by Montmartre) with whom Dries hopes to contest prix st georges.
“Kay did a really good job with the horses while I was off and I am looking forward to competing these two,” he said.
