Award for top training centre
Summerhouse Education and Equitation Centre has been awarded Beacon status by the Learning and Skills Council.
The Gloucestershire-based centre received the award from lifelong learning, further and higher education minister Margaret Hodge at a ceremony in Westminster earlier this week.
Margaret Hodge says: “We must recognise and celebrate success in the further education and work-based learning sector.
“Summerhouse has maintained excellent standards in its delivery of key skills and equine delivery of learning on a national basis, its self assessment processes and its reporting and development planning.
“This is a local work-based learning provider to be proud of and I look forward to many more following its lead.”
Beacon status is awarded to further education and sixth-form colleges, and work-based training providers.
